Replaced this seal when I installed carpet in my Cougar. There was no sign of the original seal left in the car, but there was no carpet either, so…this seal fit good and I’m sure it will do its job!!

A pain in the ass

Good product, but a total pain in the ass to get all lined up correctly while your trying to shove the tranny box back in the floor pan.

First quality

Previously reviewed in ignorance. Presumed the seal went between the bezel and the shifter body/housing. That's why the bolt pattern was wrong. This seals the body to the floor/transmission hump.

Fits like a glove. On my car, the original seal was destroyd when i remowed the shifter housing. So i realy needed a New seal to finich the job.

Luckely they still make them.

Good fit; as advertised.

Wrong size and bolt spacing for 1970 Cougar automatic floor shifter

Quality is good, heavy gauge; but is rectangular whereas bezel is slightly tapered (not a "major" problem) but the bolt hold spacing is off considerably front to rear. I don't have an original for comparison so not sure if the overall length is correct or not - it will cover all bolt holes, but does not extend to the end of the bezel, and fits inside (mostly) widthwise. Totally ineffective as a "seal".
