it all worked
Great reproduction for the money, real close to original, I suggest to sand and paint the knob black and it will look real close. I will have my original redone by WCCC.
No.
Ordered this as a replacement for the broken stock mirror in my '67 Thunderbird. For the Thunderbird, the only thing that is not "correct" is that the flip switch is gray, not black. Nothing a little black paint wont fix. Compared to the original, you can tell it's cheaply made- but it's a great repro part for the money. Especially considering that repro parts for '67-71 Thunderbirds are pretty much non-existent. Great to find a cross-over Cougar part that is correct for the Thunderbird. Hopefully other Thunderbird owners will find this mirror, rather than resorting to something generic from the local auto parts store.
The manufacturer finally took the hint! The swing arm is now black! Perfect replacement to my original that was falling apart. The body may be plastic, but it sure looked to imitate Vinyl. It was well below freezing in my garage, so I couldn’t tell. I would be interested to know if the body has now changed to be Vinyl as well. Then it would be as good as genuine.
The mirror I received from WCCC looks great in the car!
Mirror had black twist lever and looked pretty correct for material. Did have solid up and down mount but was a bit loose side to side. Driving the car mirror doesn't bounce around so it works fine. Like it better than my old mirror- going to take my old mirror apart and get mirror replaced. This works as a substitute in the meantime. Worth the money IMO.
