These same clips are also found on the four rocker switches located in the center of the 1969-1970 XR7 dash pad. Do not bend the "J" shaped tab any further than is necessary to release the plug from the back of the switch as these break easily....

These are fantastic!!! I pulled my driver door panel to find duct tape holding my wiring to what was left of my power window switches. All but a few had the retaining prongs broken off, and the entire assembly was a mess. I ordered repro switches, a lockout and enough of these clips to mount one on the top and bottom of each and WOW, what a difference. If you have power windows, buy two clips for each switch you use and you will not be disappointed. I did have one set that probably had something heavy set upon it and needed the outward retaining tabs bent in very slightly to fit into the new switches, but otherwise they all friction fit with the right amount of coaxing from a jeweler's screwdriver and clipped back in nicely to the switch housing.
