New oil pan drain plug, Ford engine blue painted, with plastic gasket.  Looks correct, but has a different sized head than factory oil pan bolts. Correct 1/2" - 20 bolt diameter and thread pattern for factory Mercury Cougar...

Pros:
  • Ford Blue Color
Cons:
  • Doesn't Fit
  • Metric bolt
I know these car's get modified over the years and I'm not the original owner of this car.

With that said, this item is not the correct part for my 1969 XR-7 351W M-Code engine.

My current drain bolt is 11/16" and has a much larger shaft diameter.

Not only does it not fit but the bolt head is 21mm, I suspect, in 1969, Ford was not using metric bolts!

My SAE ratchet set has sizes that increment by 16ths and none of my SAE sockets fit it, but 21mm fits like a glove.

I guess this reproduction isn't concourse...
