Pros:
  • Got all my parts!
Cons:
  • Hard Rubber
I have a 1970 Torino that had some of the pins pushed out of the under dash to under hood wiring connector. I also noticed mine was missing the small plastic insulator that helps align the pins when you install the connector through the firewall. I purchased this pigtail which was from a 69 Cougar to get the parts I needed: the connector body, the boot that seals it, the wiring and the insulator. Being over 50 years old, I expected the rubber boot to be hard, but I hoped it would all be usable. I got lucky and I was able to un pin several of the wires form the connector, install them in my connector then splice them into my harness. It just so happened that the Cougar and the Torino happened to share some of the same colored wire, so with the splices concealed under the tape, you can't even notice the repair. I was able to soften the dry rubber boot by placing it in a ziplock bag and spraying it down with silicone spray. I left it in the sealed bag for 24 hours and it came out soft and pliable. WCCC Rocks!
