67 Cougar XR7 8000 RPM tach

I needed a tach that would go to at least 6500 rpm and I didn't want an aftermarket tach. I purchased this one and It is perfect. It looks totally original. I bypassed the resistance wire and I am running a Pertronix at the full 12 volts with modern tach wiring.

Awesome!

To be honest I was completely daunted by the thought of pulling the dash apart and swapping out this tach for the factory unit. This was my first time attempting something like this. Turns out, with the help of Don’s videos, I was able to install the part in a couple of hours. It was actually pretty easy..again, watch Don’s videos as they’re super helpful! The instructions that come with the tach were on point and helpful. Great product, and support!
