    Description

Reproduction thick premium firewall insulation pad with clips for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. These are pre-formed for a perfect fit and appearance and greatly reduced engine noise and heat. The A/C and non A/C versions are one in the same and this unit will fit both A/C and non A/C cars. Unlike cheap paper backed insulation, these quality pads are backed with thick rubber.

    Pros:
    • Quality insulation pad
    Cons:
Nice fit, but left side needed to be slightly modified around steering column, fuse box, and headlight vacuum lines. Also attaching holes did not line up on left side.

    Cons:
    • Not molded or correctly textured
For a car that won’t be Concourse judged, this is a great solution for a dead firewall pad. While not molded like original, and lacking factory texture, this thick padded backing with sturdy rubber front mounts precisely with factory hardware and seems cut surprisingly correct. Was not disappointed for the price, given the available options.

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...
