    Description

    Please Note:

Many used items in our picture(s) have been cleaned and/or bead blasted prior to being photographed to show condition and detail. The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned. We do not retake pictures each time a used item sells. Pictures are a good indicator of what you will receive, but not all used parts age the same. On high dollar parts, email us and we can send a few pictures of the actual part available.

"Core" Items: If we use the word "Core" in the title of the product, the item has been deemed rebuildable, but has not been rebuilt.  The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned.

Shaft assembly for driver side hideaway headlamps for any 1969 Mercury Cougar. Complete with rag joint and nut. Sold individually, one per side. These have become side specific due to time, and stress on those rag joints.

    Question
    Customer Asked:
Was this item removed from the driver side or passenger side? The reason I ask is that in the install video you guys made for the Electric actuator conversion kit (the 1969 Cougar), it was recommended to switch the driver side shaft to the passenger side to help even out wear. So when I receive these shafts, do I install them the same side they came off? Or do I install these shafts switched (driver to passenger and vice versa)?

I asked Don and he said that they do in fact warp over time, so he suggests installing them whichever way makes your grille line up the best.

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...
