Many used items in our pictures have been cleaned and/or bead blasted prior to being photographed to show condition and detail.
The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned.
We do not retake pictures each time a used item sells. Pictures are a good indicator of what you will receive, but not all used parts age the same. On high dollar parts, email us and we can send a few pictures of the actual part available.
"Core" Items:
If we use the word "Core" in the title of the product, the item has been deemed rebuildable, but has not been rebuilt. The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned.
Used grade "B" driver side (left hand) convertible top boot moulding / trim for the Mercury Cougar XR7 convertible. These are unique to the XR7 as the standard convertibles used the shorter version (same as Mustang) that ended at the quarter window. We are often asked, "Why so much?" The answer is that the production figures for these XR7's were very low and most folks will consider restoring them in just about any condition. When we do get in a XR7 convertible parts car (every few years or so) the chances of them having these trim parts with no cracks, holes, heavy pitting and them having most of the mounting studs in place as well as the aluminum weatherstripping mount bracket is rare. We require you send a restorable core in exchange to get this pricing. If your part is missing the aluminum belt-line weatherstrip mount then the part you receive in exchange will also be missing it.
