Product Condition Grades
Below is a general description of what the criteria is for our product condition grades. These are generalizations that are intended to give you an idea of the condition of the product at a quick glance. Because different parts degrade at different rates, there are variances in what the letters represent, please see the products description for details about the condition of any particular product.
A = Excellent / Above Average
B = Average / Some flaws / Good to Excellent Driver Quality
C = Obvious flaws / Poor to Average Driver Quality
D, E, F = Worse, Worser, Worsest
This version of the emblem was actually used on early 70's full-size Mercurys, and is almost identical to the 1969-70 version used on Cougars. In order to use it on a Cougar fuel door, the studs on the back will need to be trimmed down The only visible difference is the thinner / more numerous ridge lines in the red crest area than on the Cougar version. Casting number on this substitute emblem is D1GB-16607-AA.
The original emblems were never sold as a stand alone part from Ford but rather an assembly. At one time we had obtained some from the original supplier to Ford and which never mounted to the bezel. Casting number on the back of the originals was C9WB-65405A92. These were originally manufactured by the D.L. Auld Emblem Company.

We do not send cash for parts in advance but we often can compensate you within hours of receiving the goods.
