Description

Pressure die cast, with quality chrome sun visor center bracket and rear view mirror mount. Replaces one of the most visible interior parts on a 1967 Mustang or Cougar. Break away style, two piece construction.

Beware of cheap single piece imitations that are available as they are unsafe. Keep in mind you will have to give your screw driver some good pressure when installing to make the mirror fit tight.

Replaces Ford part # C7ZZ-17690-A.

These are manufactured in the USA.

These mirrors are made in the USA by California Pony Cars. These are designed to breakaway if something slams in to them rather than impaling. The cheaper versions look very similar, but do not have the breakaway safety feature. If you look in the pics for this item, you can see a rectangle around the base of the mirror bracket where it connects to the visor bracket. This is where the mirror is designed to break away in the case that something hits it. Some of the cheaper versions still have that rectangle, but it is just for appearance, the mirror does not actually break away.

@Shawn: The spacing on the mounting holes are different 67 to 68, and the 67 uses a rear view mirror that mounts to the visor bracket. There are enough differences that it would not be just a simple swap. They do make a white version of the 68 visor bracket: ITEM #: 13811

Looks good. But the slot for the mirror to attach to the bracket arm was so wide the screw never tightened enough to hold the mirror. Very disappointing, couldn't use it. The fit and correctness ratings should both be 0, but the website didn't allow it.

This reproduction seems to be a dead ringer for the old worn out bracket on my 67. It comes with a new nylon bushing to cure the drooping mirror issue.
