    2 Cougar Applications

    Description

Used aluminum rear deck lid moulding / trim for the Mercury Cougar. Our used trunk lid trim is usually dull and lightly scratched as you see pictured here. Expect numerous and heavier scratches in the key hole area. We have a really hard time keeping good, straight used aluminum deck lid mouldings in stock. They are very prone to damage and many have been replaced with the 1969-70 stainless steel version which was the standard service replacement part that Ford would have sold you from 1969 until 1995 when they went obsolete. As a side note, notice the light "corrosion spots" on this moulding. If you are wanting to have a piece of aluminum restored, the corrosion you see here is acceptable but you would not want it any worse. To restore corroded pieces they have to be buffed until the level of the deepest pit is reached. This process is not only time consuming but can result in a thin, weakened part that has noticeable high and low spots. Seven clips are used to install the deck lid moulding and we have new clips available here.

    Ford part # C7WY-6542512-A.

*NOTE* Keep in mind we buy most trim and mouldings found on a Cougar.

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...
