    1 Cougar Applications

    Description

Reproduction air conditioning evaporator for early production Mercury Cougars and Ford Mustangs. This early 1969 version has inlet and outlet tubes that run horizontally, in the later 1969-70 version, these tubes run diagonally off of the core. Please note the type of connection that you have. This item uses "O" - Ring style fittings. 1967-68 and some very early 1969 cars were using compression fittings.
*Note - We have had numerous customers complain that these don't fit exactly like the originals.

As far as evaporators go, we highly suggest going with a good used evaporator over these new versions. What happens is this: These companies use more coils (35% more passes) which equals out to thinner metal, which also equals out to performance that's sub-par to a good used original evaporator.

Check out our video below on how to replace a heater core and A/C evaporator! We used a '69 Cougar, but many of the same concepts apply to other years.

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...
