All Available Parts - 1971 Mercury Cougar

Used original pan removed from a Western parts car, 14 bolt holes. This pan is not available new. These will have some dents and or scrapes. These were not painted originally, may have light rust that will clean up. Consider them Grade B used.

The only Cougar that we know came factory equipped with this part is the Cobra Jet. According to the Master Parts Catalog (MPC), any Cougar with a 3.91 or 4.11 rear end and a C-6 would have been equipped with this reducer. Replaces Ford Part #: C8ZZ-17294-A.

This clips affixes the plastic speedometer gear to the cable. Some have found that this OEM original clip fits a little better than the reproduction we offer. *Trivia* Did you know the first Cougar cast for production in 1968 was this "Custom Cougar"? This fine example was offered up on ebay summer 2008 for a mere $6500.

This very rare part is unique to the 1970 - 1971 CJ and SCJ C6. There was no 390 option in 1970 - 71. Sales were down on the CJ equipped Cougars in 70-71 making this one very hard part to obtain.  We have determined that this part only fits Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang. Interior door panel grab handle or door pull. These are B grade handles. These will have damaged threaded inserts and will not be suitable for use to close your doors. These can be modified by drilling through the handle and installing a small acorn nut. The Wittek Company manufactured the tower clamps used on the Cougar from 1967 to 1973, the Mustang from 1964 1/2 to 1973, as well as many other Ford and Mercury cars during that period. In October or 1993, the company filed for bankruptcy. This has made the tower clamp unavailable to the classic car restorer.
