Perfect Length. Was exact as Original. Snapped in one end. Slid In the Other. Perfect. Ordered another for the future. Thank You Again My buddy Don Rush!.
Upon installation the speedometer indicator dial "bounces" while in operation. I pointed this out to the mechanic that installed the speedometer cable and was advised that this issue is prevalent with aftermarket speedometer cables and there is no guarantee that installing a replacement will fix the issue. The cable is whipping around in the casing.WCCC Response:This is the first time we have heard of this happening with one of the speedometer cables we sell. The one we sell is higher quality than the cables at the local auto parts stores. We're out of stock on those at the moment, but we would be happy to exchange that for a new one when we get those back in stock.

The plastic clip was a little bit brocken, but it is still functional. Thats the only bad Thing. Fitting is very good in my 69 Mustang with 428CJ and C6,
Good replacement cable but the dash square end was too large and I had to carefully trim down with sanding drum on my dremel tool. Start at dash first. I removed the dash pad. (a pain) Cable won't take much heat and that is what ruined my last one when it fell on header. (See picture) This time I ran cable through a 3' heat shroud sleeve and added several new clamps. (Google DE Inc. Heat Shroud) to keep it up tight to the body. 69 Conv. 351W w/FMX
Perfect fit replacement for 69 w/FMX
The best thing about buying from WCCC is Don KNOWS Cougar parts, unlike most sellers on the auction sites, plus you get OEM quality. I should know, I bought what I thought was the right cable on an auction site that claimed it was the right one. Well, it was too short. Not being funny, but 5 inches does make a difference.
somehow the original melted…. I had read that the replacements were longer and had a tendency to lay against the exhaust, but this fit nicely no lag on the cable.
This cable fit perfectly but can be a pain to run through the firewall and install into the transmission. i found it was easier to install once i had removed the master cylinder from the brake booster (not necessary i had to rebuild my master cylinder). Be sure to reuse the mounting tab for the speedo. I have not driven my car (ever) so i cannot say how it works but it is in the car.
I had originally bought an after market cable which was way too long and the grommet did not fit the firewall penetration. So I bought this to replace it with. It was the right length, grommet and looked to fit well with the cluster out of the car. After installing the cable and routing it into the car, I tried to insert it into the back of the speedometer to only find that the wire wrap was frayed and separated from the square peg. I thought ... that could have been me ... so let's order a second for just the cable. This time I inspected the inner cable and found that the bushing the also goes into the speedo was poorly machined. There were still metal splinters attached to it that would interfere with its install. I've had to take a dremmel and cut them off and file them down. Still need to attach at the tranny and test drive ... but it took two of these to get one complete unit.
