This never came on a Cougar, but it is a nice upgrade from the string that attaches your seat belt shoulder strap to the coat hanger when the shoulder strap is not in use. Fits all models except convertible.
Originally, the shoulder strap connected to the bolt cover on one end,
And to a string on the shoulder strap that connects it to the coat hook to keep it out of the way when not in use.
This new hook slides into the track on the back of the moulding over the door, and is used instead of the string. The easiest way to install the new hook is to take out the screw on the moulding over the door that is on the end closest to the windshield. Then slide the hook into the channel on the back side of the moulding to approximately where you want it..
Below is what it looks like once installed.
Once you have the seat belt looped over the hook, you can slide the hook toward the windshield to tension the seat belt. This hook can hold the shoulder strap tighter against the headliner than the factory method is capable of.
