Oil and Coil connectors fit fine but temperature connector was too sn=mall of diameter to fit. Overall the harness was of very good quality.

Overall an excellent fit, length is perfect. My only complaint is the terminal for the temp sender was a little too tight to fit over the stud without widening it. But to be fair, that may have been the sender itself.

Have looked at two other suppliers of Cougar parts, and none of them had the feed harness as listed for my base '68 289, or more precisely were listed as for my car and were nowhere near being the right part. I now have the correct feed harness with the right connector, and didn't have to spend hours trying to research p/ns to get it. Arrived within one week of ordering and I'm on the other side of the country. Good service, actual knowledge of a Cougar instead of treating it like an overgrown Mustang, and quick shipping. What's not to like?

    Question
    Asked:
What water temp sender fits this cable? I have a stock 1967 289-2v XR-7 (with tach of course). One from NPD was too small for the water sensor. My car's oil cable is slip on versus push on.

    Answer
    WCCC Admin Answered:

We only offer one temperature sending unit for that application, and we have never heard of anyone having issues with it unless the car was modified: https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/c6dz-10884-b.html

Note: If someone has previously installed an aftermarket sensor that had a larger stud, they may have opened up the connector to work with the larger stud. You may need to squeeze down the connection for it to seat correctly.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...
