Product Condition Grades
Below is a general description of what the criteria is for our product condition grades. These are generalizations that are intended to give you an idea of the condition of the product at a quick glance. Because different parts degrade at different rates, there are variances in what the letters represent, please see the products description for details about the condition of any particular product.
A = Excellent / Above Average
B = Average / Some flaws / Good to Excellent Driver Quality
C = Obvious flaws / Poor to Average Driver Quality
D, E, F = Worse, Worser, Worsest
Also referred to as "Bumperettes", this kit was available as an over the counter option for your 1967 or 1968 Mercury Cougar. According to Kevin Marti's book, "Cougar By The Numbers" 15,018 Cougars received rear bumper guards from the factory in 1968, that data is not listed for 1967 but it is assumed that the numbers are about the same. Keep in mind that the installation of this kit requires drilling two holes in your rear valance, for an example please check out our used valances in the body section as we have one pictured there. These guards are marked left and right but you can modify them in a vise to fit either side.
KIt includes NOS bumper guards and reproduction brackets and new hardware, will show shelf wear.
