In 1967, one could order from the factory a power drum brake Mustang or Cougar. In 1968 - 1973 that option was discontinued and all you could order was manual drum all the way around or power disc in front with drum in the back. This kit is for the person who already has the power booster and pedal in place and wants to convert to power disc in the front. Since the 1967 model year used the same spindles for disc or drum brake cars you can do this conversion and never even have to take your car...

When we say the "vintage casting look", we mean with the proper groove and contours. Reproductions are fine, but do not retain the casting design of the original casting company. When looking for used brake drums, the rule of thumb is to find ones with a brake surface area of 1/4 inch more than the brake shoe width.

This kit was sold by Ford Service Departments back in the day for those who were tired of their manual drum brakes. This kit includes all you will need to convert your six cylinder Mustang or V8 Cougar / Mustang from manual to power drum brakes. This passenger side (right hand) reproduction emergency / parking brake cable idler bracket mounts to the right front floor pan. The idler bracket is often discarded when the floor pan is removed for replacement. We also have good used units in stock for those that desire 100% correctness.

Steel tubing features tin/lead coating and plated zinc chromate fitting and are exact copies of the originals with color coded fittings like original. This set is correct for both power and manual drum brakes. As original, they have an extra "coil" of tubing that is unwound and stretched when used with a power brake booster.

This seat riser / platform is specific to Mustang, but if you're "vertically challenged"....you may want to go ahead and use this part on your Cougar. It'll raise your seat up enough so that you don't have to use phone books anymore!

As this item is for a Mustang, you will find that you will have to modify it to work with your Cougar. This unit measures 28" long where the Cougar piece is 19". This unit is a 1/4" wider than the Cougar piece as well.

Good reproduction reinforcing plate, contours are like the C5ZZ-7610962-A plate which was used through 1970. Thick steel like the originals, and with same contours. Bolts to the left hand and right hand lower floor reinforcement panels. Bolts into place with 6 hex bolts 3/8-16 x 1-1/8" with washers. These were painted satin black from the factory. Now you can replace this original part, which is commonly stripped out, with a nice reproduction. Must be welded to floor pan. 6 total per car, 2 inboard in the transmission tunnel, and 4 on the rear seat pans. The front outboard anchors are part of the rocker rails. Rectangular shaped like the 1967-73 cars. Passenger side (right hand) front seat floor pan. This pan is cut from the full floor pans in order to save on shipping costs when a customer does not need the entire length pan. Cutting from the Dynacorn full length pans means this will be a quality cut, when compared to other pans on the market.   1967-68 style ribbing, works in 1969-70 and can be modified to fit 1971-73. *NOTE* This floor pan has the outside lip bent down which is proper for coupes, convertibles were bent up....

Detachable mounting plate for installing the passenger side convertible ram cylinder, to the convertible top frame assembly behind the quarter interior panel. Right and left are the different, fits all 1969-70 Mercury Cougar and 1965-70 Ford Mustang convertibles. Ford part number C5ZZ-76531A18-A.

C5ZZ-7610962-A Ford description of this plate is "Plate - Front floor lower cross member". All 1967-73 Cougar convertibles and all 1965-73 Ford Mustang convertibles use this plate. Lightly used intake manifold cast aluminum 427-4V medium riser. Blue Thunder casting 427MR-4V. Has the oil fill tube in front, dual plane, and the road draft provision in the back. Very tall manifold, likely to not fit under the stock hood of a Cougar or Mustang. Do your research on this, if you know, you know. We don't. Small portion on the driver side front has been lightly ground down, likely for a coil. No other issues noted.

If your Cougar has to sit outside for any length of time this is a must. Not only will it protect from unwanted moisture but pine needles and other debris will be kept out. If your cowl already leaks then this is a great way to prevent the floors from rusting. Spring loaded T shaped fasteners make for instant installation and removal, attaches under grate bars so as not to damage paint. Very worth while preventative maintenance item.
