Nice part, hard to beat Dynacorn quality. Do yourself a favor and touch up the mounting holes with a quality 5/16"-18 and 1/2"-13 tap. The primer gets in the threads and makes it a little hard to install the screws. Shipping was a fiasco. Fedex took over two weeks to deliver to Texas by way of California and Chicago. it went through two snow storms and and ice storm, yet the hood arrived perfect. Dynacorn sets it vertically on a pallet with a box inside a box...It survived unscathed! Shipping might seem expensive...After seeing how the hood is packed I assure you the price is fair.
Gotta say I am very pleased with this repro hood. Everything is spot on. Fits well. Good quality. Solid. This was the last piece of my Cougar-puzzle and couldn't wrap my head around what people wanted for used hoods. Excellent alternative. Loved the fact that I am rid of the J-clips on the old hood. Recommend chasing the threads: the epoxy coating is thick on the threads. Picked up from Dynacorn: they were super chill. My suggestion is to replace the ancillary parts while you are at it (bolts, latches, etc.) my old parts were less than ideal fit.
Excellent hood replacement, especially when you consider that the alternatives are used hoods at double to triple the cost. I needed a hood to replace the original hood that I cut a hole into in order to fit a functional hood-scoop many years ago. I was hesitant at first, but I’m so glad that I ordered the hood from West Coast Cougar.
