Pros:
  • good price nice addition
Cons:
  • Poor instructions for a Cougar

The item works well, and is easy to install if you have a little knowledge. My only issue is that there need to be instructions on how to install it in the trunk lid of a Cougar. Only instructions provided show how to install in an early Mustang, and we know that the Cougar and Mustang are different when it comes to where the lock is located in the trunk. You must use a cutting wheel to cut out 3/8" of trunk lid lip just behind the original locking area.

You don’t have to cut the sides of the locking area, just behind the lock. Mine looks rough because my cutting wheel broke while cutting out the metal. The blade was only for thin metal, and I found out the this area is double plated.

Other than that it is a nice addition to my Modified 70 Convertible Cougar. Works great now.
