I should have read the warning on the WCCC website before I nearly ruined one of the expensive center caps. Tap and die set allowed me to recover from my mistake. An assortment of screws that fit the same brand of center caps would fix this. Also, some instructions would be nice. Even if you get the correct screws, it's almost like you need three hands to put these on correctly. Can think of a few ways to make the design of the adapter kit easier to install. On this front, the name Scott Drake stamped on the parts at least gives you a specific name to curse at when you're struggling to install something that should be easier to install if the designer gave it a little more thought. All that being said, I love the product and the end result. Looks stunning once you are done.
I purchased this adapter kit for the LEGENDARY 1967 / 1968 SHELBY - ALUMINUM WHEELs I had purchased, to go with the Black Mercury Man center caps. Unfortunately, the screws that come with it are incorrect. It appears M4-.70 x 12 are the correct screws for my application after trying various screws at Lowe’s.
