This is the 1.37" X 1.66 X .31 plastic grommet that goes inside the trunk to protect the trunk wires from rubbing the edges of the sheet metal body. This grommet was also used for the hood light wiring under the hood.

Our '68 DGS trunk did not have the grommet, but this reproduction fit perfectly and I am confident that it is a faithful reproduction. It is made of plastic, not rubber, and simply presses into the hole and clips into place.
