These worked great to brighten up my gauge cluster. The original bulbs were dim and just provided a faint glow in the gauges. The LEDs light the gauges up making them clear and easy to read at night. Just take your time and make sure the bulbs are oriented correctly when you twist them into the printed circuit.
Great upgrade I can now see my gauges at night. Easy to follow instructions.
Although the fit was great the material was faulty. Of the bulbs in the package one green bulb was faulty as the green illumination square was not present like the others
Wow are these nice, I can actually see my gauges in the dark, it was hard finding an led conversion that would keep the stock green tint. These lights look stock but give the gauge much more backlighting. The lights come with nice instructions and a nice diagram to follow as well.
perfect!!!!!! Can't see your gages at night? Wait till you try these, they will amaze you. A must have item and it's worth it.
World of difference in the brightness. Now I can see how fast I'm going at night, lol.
Close to correct color, but way brighter. Can still dim it down to get the old original "dimly lit look". Although WCCC does not sell the LED equivalent for the 1445 Shifter selector and heater controls bulbs, It is made by the same manufacturer of this part. You just have to go to the website listed on the packaging after you order this bulb set. Then order the 1 SMD (Bright) or the 5XS SMD (Brighter) with the BA9S bayonet type base in the "Warm White" color(which is closest to factory color once the blue filter is put over it. Its not a quick job to take apart the whole dash to replace these bulbs, but if you have to replace a burned out bulb, you might as well do the whole set in LED, not only do they make the dash look better at night, they supposedly way outlast the incandescent bulbs so you won't be doing the job again anytime soon...
Given the price for these, I expected them to be top quality. Unfortunately, one of the green turn indicators failed with ~50 miles-- a symptom of poor quality of many Chinese made LED lights. I now have to go through the pain of removing the dashboard again to replace. It is ironic that the original incandescent bulb I replaced with this LED was still working after 54 years.
I installed this kit a few years ago and one of the green LED's just quit. These LED's are a different design than the original kit. The printed circuit diagram shown is for a car with a tach and is not exactly the same as a 69 car without a tach. HiPo Parts recommends not replacing the red "Alt" light with a LED. Don't know why but when I did, the LED light would blink. They also show a correct printed circuit diagram for a non-tach car. Be careful with polarity! I checked all the LED's with a battery before re-installing dash.
Really makes a difference in the brightness of your dash light! I would highly recommend!
