- I am looking for a Cougar part and I can't find it on your site, what do I do?
We have thousands of parts, especially used items, that we have yet to list on our online store. There are also items that are just hard to find because of differences in terminology. Just mention in your order comments what part(s) you are looking for and we would be happy to help; we will call you and walk through your options on the phone. You can also send us a message using our Contact Us form.
- I want to pre-send my Cores, but I don't want to loose the online order discount.
If you want to send your core parts in advance we will in fact give you the 10% online order discount, just ask.
- I am concerned the shipping quote on your site is incorrect, it looks high.
Select "contact me for payment" in the payment options section and often we can combine odd shaped items manually to save you money or help you find a less expensive carrier.
- How long does it take before you ship my order?
Many times orders ship out the same day we receive them, but we cannot promise this. We ship orders Monday through Friday; USPS picks up shipments around noon and UPS picks up shipments around 4PM PST. Orders received over the weekend may not ship until Tuesday, depending on how many orders came in over the weekend. If your order has items that need to be pulled from our wrecking yard, this can delay your order upto a week, but most of the time it only takes a day or two for used items to be removed from our donor cars and to be headed your way. We make an honest effort to ship orders as soon as we can.
- Do you ship internationally?
Absolutely! We do every day. Customers overseas may also want to check with their local American Car Club. Many of them regularly ship items out of the US and are more than willing to include your parts as well. (Read more)
Do you ship to APO/FPO/DPO Addresses?
We are more than happy to ship to APO/FPO/DPO addresses. Please remember that only USPS can deliver to these addresses so what you are ordering must fit within the guidelines for the USPS Military Mail Shipping Rules. These rules can be found at https://www.usps.com/ship/apo-fpo-dpo.htm. Military personnel overseas may also want to check with the local American Car Club. Many of them regularly ship items out of the US and are more than willing to include your parts as well.
- When I do a Search I get no results, why?
Many times customers start by entering a very detailed search string. Much of the time you will get better results if you start generic and narrow down what you are searching for. For example, if you are looking for a seat belt for the left hand side of your rear bench seat of your 68 Cougar, start by choosing the make and model from the "Please choose your car" dropdown, in this case the "1968 Mercury Cougar", and then just search for "seat belt".
Another common reason for no search results is a difference in terminology. For example, many people call the vacuum actuator that opens and closes the headlights on a 67-70 cougar a vacuum motor. On many listings we have tried to put alternate names of the items in the setting so it can be found by the other names people might call the item, but we have far from listed all the possibilities. If you find a part that does not come up using a commonly used name for that item, please let us know so we can try to add the name to the items search settings.
- I keep getting a "Data was lost while sending your request to the server (the form's post data was truncated)" error, Why?
The technology that our website uses requires that the page be completely done loading before certain things can be done on the page; examples are Add to Cart, Add to Wishlist, Sort Order, Items per Page, etc. If you click on any of these before the page has finished loading you will receive that error.
- I have a long list of part number I wrote down that I want to order, do I have to search for them and add them to my cart one item at a time?
No you do not. If you look in the menu at the bottom of every page of our site, there is a link 'Order by SKU'. This allows you to enter up to 20 part numbers and how many of them you want to purchase and add all 20 part numbers to the cart at one time.
