Reproductions of the rare mounting kit brackets used to hold the shift indicator assembly to the console. The washer measures 1 13/16" x 5x8" and the total length of the screw is 1 3/8" but a much shorter screw would suffice. *NOTE* the raised lip of this washer faces up and only the three beveled holes on the shift indicator bezel use them.

Cougar actually used a larger ribbed plate on manual transmission cars without a console but this Mustang part is an inexpensive alternative. The rubber shift boot screws to the transmission tunnel, carpet then goes over it and lastly this retainer slips over the boot and hides the cut edges of your carpet. We suggest using white lithium grease or petroleum jelly to ensure the seal will not stick to the shift lever.
