    Description

At last, there's a solution to a problem that almost all early Cougars suffer from. If the turn signal indicators in your dash only blink once, and then pulsate slowly without going out, you need this new electronic relay. It's a direct plug-and-play replacement, and it will give your indicators a nice on-off flash, complete with a mechanical click sound, all in time with your turn signals. We're excited about this simple fix; it's great to see and hear the indicators working properly.

The number stamped on your original mechanical relay will be C8WB-13A366-A or C8WB-13A366-C, the Ford part number this unit replaces is C8WY-13A366-A or C8WY-13A366-C.

Check out this quick before-and-after video demonstration:

This is referred to as the "K5" relay in the Ford service manual. This relay causes the flashing action of the 1968 Mercury Cougar instrument panel indicator lights.

*CAUTION* The 1967 and 1968 K7 relay look similar, but are not the same. Damage to your wiring system will occur with the wrong relay.

*NOTE* Need help diagnosing a Cougar turn signal problem? Victor Yarberry is the world’s most knowledgeable expert on the subject. It’s really nice to have the inside turn signals flashing again, after I upgraded to the exterior LED’s. This is literally and plug-and-play upgrade for any Cougar owner. It does seem a little expensive for this one relay, but it is nice to have everything working as it did originally in the car. The clicking sound is a nice touch, just like the old days!

    • flashing pulse
    Cons:
    • clicking sound volume
This part has stopped the fade off of indicator flasher on instrument panel but disappointing is the clicking sound, no way loud enough, can't hear it with window down in traffic etc..

I didnt think I would need this!

I had a hard time accepting the cost of this relay simply for the turn signal "click" and bulb illumination but I must say its worth it! You take for granted how nice it is to be able to have a functioning turn signal light and audible click to remind you your turn signal is on. This relay is a must have if you go with the plasma LED taillight bulbs which again are another huge upgrade that is worth every penny. With LEDs and the stock K5 relay your turn signal indicator isnt audible and solidly lit when activated but does not flash. This relay solves both those issues and a must have with LED bulbs. Made in the USA!

Do you have our free 1968 electrical schematic? Page 3-E6 gives you a pretty good idea of where to look for it.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
WCCC hooked me up with an original glove box cable and the correct screws WITH shoulders for my glove box. Their listing for these screws explains that the original screws have a shoulder for the cable and most people put in the wrong screws--which...
