Please Note:
Many used items in our picture(s) have been cleaned and/or bead blasted prior to being photographed to show condition and detail. The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned. We do not retake pictures each time a used item sells. Pictures are a good indicator of what you will receive, but not all used parts age the same. On high dollar parts, email us and we can send a few pictures of the actual part available.
"Core" Items: If we use the word "Core" in the title of the product, the item has been deemed rebuildable, but has not been rebuilt. The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned.
Product Condition Grades
Below is a general description of what the criteria is for our product condition grades. These are generalizations that are intended to give you an idea of the condition of the product at a quick glance. Because different parts degrade at different rates, there are variances in what the letters represent, please see the products description for details about the condition of any particular product.
A = Excellent / Above Average
B = Average / Some flaws / Good to Excellent Driver Quality
C = Obvious flaws / Poor to Average Driver Quality
D, E, F = Worse, Worser, Worsest
Used tilt / tilt away steering column converted into a tilt only unit for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. All 1967-69 Cougars and Mustangs optioned with a tilt column also had the tilt-away (aka tilt-swing, tilt-fly or tilt-pop). There was never a tilt only option in 1967-69 Cougar or Mustang, no matter what you may have been told... That being said some of our customers prefer not to have the added expense or complexity involved with the swing-away function. This column has been fused at the fly-away joint so as to tilt only. It includes everything shown here, you will need no other parts to make a conversion from fixed to tilt column. It has been 100% dismantled, cleaned and serviced, no missing, cracked, stressed or bent parts, ready to install in your car.
We will also give you in-store credit for the parts that are no longer necessary with a tilt only conversion. Some of these parts are the vacuum motor, the wiring harness and the hoses.
Also keep in mind we will give you in-store credit for any 1967-73 FoMoCo tilt away or tilt column parts, even if it is a column shift column from a full size Lincoln, Mercury or Ford.
*NOTE* For tilt column service, you can contact Tony Augustine at 6t8cougarguy@gmail.com. Tony is a trusted colleague of WCCC and we've sent many customers his way since our column specialist retired last year.
