    Used steering column flange bumper for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang equipped with the tilt / tilt away steering column. This little unit is made of plastic and Ford used it to keep the tilt / tilt away steering column's flanges in the knuckle assembly from breaking its self apart during actuation. Because of the forces generated in the tilt / tilt away column's actuation, your knuckle assembly will fail due to metal to metal contact if this piece is missing.
