Description

This reproduction remotely operated driver side (left hand) mirror is unique to the 1969 XR7 as evidenced by the chrome base. The Eliminator and Sports Special used a painted base, but in late 1969 the XR7 came with a painted base. This reproduction unit will come with the correct chrome base, but the head will be in primer for you to paint to match the color of your killer Cat. The XR7, Sports Special, or Eliminator never came with a passenger side (right hand) mirror from the factory, but you can get one here!

Replaces Ford part # C9WY-17682-D.

Cheap Mechanism

Originals have a ball-and-socket type of pivot behind the mirror glass that allows it to move with precision. This unit lacks it completely, giving it a sloppy adjustment. The backing plate that the mirror glass bonds to is silver instead of black. The chrome plating is thin. Skip buying this and get a good used one. Re-chromed bases and replacement mirror glass are available on here.
