    Description

This 2-1/4 inch rear segment exhaust system is manufactured right here in the good old USA from an original 1971 M code Cougar with the 351C engine. This direct replacement system includes: 2 intermediate pipes, 2 mufflers, and a right and left tail pipe. The system is constructed from 2-1/4 inch aluminized piping and features blue printed bends with everything being replicated as close as possible to the original. The mufflers in the system have the hanging tabs attached so that they will accept original muffler hangers. This 1971-73 rear segment exhaust system is constructed for use with original stock cast iron exhaust manifolds. H pipes can also be purchased separately as well as in a 1/4 inch oversize diameter.

*NOTE* Does not include H pipe, pipe clamps, or hangers and it can only be used with H pipes made from 2-1/4 inch tubing.

    Pros:
    Cons:
I first put this on my 71 and had a muffler failure. That system did not fit well and interfered with the drive shaft and pinion snubber bracket. The manufacture replaced the full rear segment system under warranty. Kuddos for them on that. How ever the replacement system had a bunch of things not the same as the first. 1, both tail pipes had a turn inboard near the end, first system only the L/H one did. 2, both intermediate pipes were different then the first ones. New system interferes with the drive shaft, Pinion snubber and 1 lief spring at the rear. Recommend if you do buy this have a competent shop install it as they will have the tools to make needed adjustments to the pipes.

WCCC hooked me up with an original glove box cable and the correct screws WITH shoulders for my glove box. Their listing for these screws explains that the original screws have a shoulder for the cable and most people put in the wrong screws--which...
