Right side Thermactor smog tube. Installation hardware is included as shown. Not always available, hard to keep on the shelf, we always have the reproduction tube set (right and left) in stock. Must have the correct cylinder heads with the drilled and tapped holes for these tubes.

This tube is embedded into the cylinder head making it rather difficult to remove intact. Note that the nut and ferrule assembly is made of two pieces, with the ferrule being a compression fitting used to secure the smog tubes to a series of ports on the cylinder head. Used vacuum hose for the steering column release valve used in the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang equipped with the tilt / tilt away steering column. Regular vacuum hose can be used to replace this hose if you are missing the original. However, it will not be correct. This short section of wiring attaches to the terminal post on the starter solenoid that faces towards the firewall. The other end is a female plug that incorporates a fusible link. If your switch were to get stuck or the frame got in a bind with continued power being applied this is the portion that would blow saving you from a costly wiring "melt-down". This same part was used on both XR7 and standard Cougars with a power sunroof or convertible top.

This black wire attaches to the fusible link. The Fusible link connects to the starter solenoid with an eyelet connector, then connects to this wire with a billet connector. This wire then passes through the firewall to mate with the power top switch wiring under the dash.Correct for both XR7, Standard convertibles and power sunroof equipped Cougars in 1969, and Standard Cougar Convertibles in 1970. We have created all of the components needed to economically install the steel nutsert or Riv-nut for the exterior mirrors that mount to the car doors. Our steel Riv-nut uses a 1/4 inch hole. Gasket used to seal the lock cylinders to the exterior door on all 1967 - 1973 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang as well as the trunk lock gasket on all 1969-73 Mercury Cougar. It is not used for the trunk lock cylinder on the 1967 - 1968 Mercury Cougar because they uses a flip up trunk lock cover that instead uses a gasket between the covers housing and the trunk.
