This vacuum actuated door assembly was used on several performance motors without Ram Air. When extra air was needed under heavy acceleration the vacuum actuator opened the door on the side of the air cleaner base. The actuator on this unit needs to be rebuilt so this is considered a good core only.

This unit mounts on the main air chamber, it opens and closes the air vent. Made of nylon with a steel and brass plunger just like original. This unit is easy to test and can be seen by removing the glove box. Often it is the internal spring that fails on these and if your Cougar or Mustang will not easily change between blowing through the defrost ducts and the floor duct, this unit may be the culprit. Used vacuum switching manifold and electrical micro switch assembly from a mid to late 1972 through 1973 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang. This is the plastic version with riveted micro switch. Good used, rust free valance. Getting to be hard to find without excessive filler or severe damage. We have a local body man take small dents out and he does not load them up with Bondo. Vacuum tested working hot water valve for any 1969-73 Mercury Cougars or Ford Mustang equipped with factory A/C. This valve stops the flow of warm coolant in the heater hose, when the A/C is on. Has the original cast brass valve and vacuum pod. Used but functional, the reproduction version is very good, but has a black plastic valve, like the service replacement valves from Ford.Replaces Ford part number C9AA-18495-D.

Same as our crinkle finished Mercury Cougar valve covers but with a polished finish. These are rarely in stock so do not be surprised if our system will not let you order.
