Driver side convertible rear top rail, made of cast aluminum. One of the most fragile parts on the convertible top assembly. Prone to failure when one of the hydraulic cylinders fails and the top assembly is forced. Comes as shown, be sure to save all of your installation hardware and bushings. Welded in hooked retainer for the rear seat back installation on any 1967-73 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang coupe or hard top body style. This bracket welds to the edge of the package tray. Two hooks per car, sold individually. We cut out a individual sections as shown. Make good measurements prior to removal of your old brackets. Hook bracket weld in retainer for the rear seat installation on any 1971-73 Mercury Cougar. This is the front bracket that holds in the rear seat and was used on both coupes and convertibles. Grade "A" doors have never been dented in, cracked in the door latch area or rusted in the corners under the weatherstrip. When you turn it over and inspect it, the bottom seam it is not expanding from the inside out due to rust. There are no drilled holes for an after market impact strip and the sound deadener is usually still intact. Often times it will still bear the original paint but do expect multiple, small door dings. This cowl is made for a car without AC but all you have to do to modify for a factory AC car is plug the vent hole on the driver side. Replaces Ford part # D1ZZ-6502010-A.

Here is our used 1971-73 lower rear window channel which we will cut to suit your needs. Quite often vinyl tops will cause rust in this area and this part is cut from a rust free Western parts car. This specially machined screw tensions the friction clutch assembly in the gearbox.

This is the gear on the upper side of the gearbox. The cables go over each side of the gear.NOTE: Be sure the gear is in good condition so your cables don't get worn out!
