This is a restored 1968 steering wheel that is correct for all but the later production, standard interior equipped 1968 Cougars. Only the XR7 & XR7G received the woodgrain center section, the decor and standard interior equipped Cougars received a color coded to the wheel vinyl insert. This is a much higher quality bracket than other reproductions. Correct texture and fit. The bracket offered by most companies is just pot metal sprayed gray. Replaces Ford Part #: C7SZ-3A732-B or C7ZZ-3A732-B.

Installation of this bracket is easy but you will have to make a spacer to fit on the outside of the frame rail. One must use this part when installing headers with power steering. Hopefully you bought this bracket first before you tore out the nut inserts in the frame. Used original lower power steering hose mounting bracket for 289 / 302 / 351 1967-69. Comes as shown with rubber insulator. This used version has the indexing tab which the reproduction does not. Application could be for any 1967-69 Ford 289 / 302 /351W, but with only a single alternator belt. This is a copy of the Ford 7AA power steering pulley. This pulley mounted correctly on an OEM pump with factory brackets, will run on the second V-belt from the inside. The inner most fan belt runs the alternator. You would be using a single belt on the alternator. Correct application is for 1969 with 351W engines. 5-1/4" diameter and 3/8" sheave width.

This gives the thumb release button in your T shaped shift handle its tension. If it is rusted then your button will not return back to its outer position easily.
