I have held off replacing mustang standins for years. I should not have waited. These are beautiful. I only wish they ‘snapped in, however I understand the screw in backing plate is more secure.
This is a great set of center caps and they look so great with the styled steel wheels really looks factory! I like buying all the items i need in one set so it makes my life a lot easier
The screws that came with these caps were too large...same problem with the screws from the required adapter kit for the LEGENDARY 1967 / 1968 SHELBY - ALUMINUM WHEELs I had purchased. It appears M4-.70 x 12 are the correct screws for my application after trying various screws at Lowe’s. Will have to purchase screws online as my local Home Depot and Lowe’s don’t have the required 16 I needed. Otherwise, they look nice, but the clear portion may scratch easily. I might try ceramic coating them.
The center caps looked good once I installed them. The backing plate used to secure the center cap in the wheel was not drilled correctly. I had to file the holes with a small rat-tailed file to insert the screws. The spacing for the mounting screws was different by an 1/8 inch between the outside cap and the mounting disk.
