Was a Ford Technician years ago and can verify that this is indeed the correct pin. Someone had a cotter pin installed on my car.

The hairpin is a very strong pin very difficult to fit. I decided to fit a split pin instead, this was easy to fit and done the same job.

This little part holds the brake pedal, brake switch, and bushings to the master cylinder, an important part to purchase as the old one was rusted out after 50 years of service.
