I have a 1973 Cougar XR-7. The new pump is smaller than the original. Also, the feet/brackets of the pump are not in the same location of the original and don't align with the factory installed holes where you mount the pump. It was off by an inch thus I had to modify how I mounted that side of the pump that was short of the mounting bracket. Once installed the pump did the job.
