Good used center with no crack, missing paint or broken mounting tabs. This was used on all 1969 Cougars with a three spoke wheel except the XR7.

Very rarely do we find one like this example that shows no sign of fading. This is for the person who is trying to achieve a very high level of preservation / restoration.

Regardless of what you have been told these emblems were never chromed. We do not have any of these in stock, probably will not get any more but we post this so as to give you a reference as to what color they should be.

This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. We can pretty much guarantee one if not both of the two mounting studs will be broken but because of the way it fits into the recess of the steering wheel pad, gluing it into place is not a problem. We rarely have an emblem this nice in stock for more than a few weeks of any one year as the tail was prone to breaking off as well as the "cats" other limbs. This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. The tail will always be broken and probably at least one leg is missing on this grade B part. While not an exact fit our 3 spoke wheel emblem cat will fit on this black background.

This is one of the smallest "Cougar" emblems ever put on a Mercury Cougar. Only the 70-73 two spoke cat and xr7-G shift handle Cougar was smaller. It is also the most delicate! Very unusual to find the tail and all limbs intact on this fragile little kitty. Silver spray paint will make this cat look new again, they did not have a chrome finish from the factory. Now that we have reproduced this emblem there is little incentive to purchase this over-priced used emblem.

Very rare find as the vast majority of these XR7-G steering wheel emblems were gold plated. This is very different from the run of the mill used emblems we have all seen with the brass electro plating worn off. I have owned two XR7-G Cougars with this version of emblem installed and others have reported finding the same version on their original XR7-G's. Good reproduction of a knob that is always broken off. Made from milled aluminum rather than plastic as the originals were made. This makes it so it is not as susceptible to breaking off. Unique to Cougars with tilt columns in 1968 - 1969. Replaces Ford part number C8MY-17513-C. This part also fits the 68-69 Mustang, Lincoln, Marquis, Thunderbird and other like models with an adjustable steering column.
