If you are ordering used metal parts and would like them blasted, simply add this item to your cart and leave a note at checkout specifying which item(s) you want cleaned. This service applies to ALL used, cleanable items on your order. Ordering multiple used parts at once makes this flat-rate service highly valuable.
We do not use "glass beads." We use an aggressive, abrasive "cut" media designed for heavy-duty rust and scale removal. Please be aware that abrasive blasting will alter the surface texture and open the metal pores on cast iron surfaces.
Classic car parts are sometimes difficult to get completely spotless. We will use our professional discretion as to how much buildup we can safely and effectively remove.
Important Limitations & Exclusions
To protect your parts from damage, we strictly enforce the following exclusions. If this service is added for an excluded item, we will remove the service, refund you for it, and send your parts as-is.
Size Restrictions: This service is strictly for small to medium-sized items that fit safely into our blast cabinet. No large cuts (e.g., shock towers, frame rails, trunk cuts, or body panels).
Aluminum should not be sandblasted with our abrasive media. It will permanently leave a rough surface and can easily distort thin metal. We recommend sourcing a Vapor Blasting service for cast aluminum.
Sandblasting adds heat and will warp and distort larger, unreinforced sections of sheet metal. It is best to use a specialized media service or chemical stripper to remove paint from these panels.
We cannot blast chromed pieces, and sometimes heavily painted parts are also resistant to a compete cleaning.
Caution on Intake Manifolds: We strongly caution any sandblasting of small intake manifolds. Abrasive media will get trapped under the oil splash pan on the underside. If you choose to have these blasted, the splash pans must be carefully removed and sanitized by you to clear out any caked/coked oil sludge and trapped media.
Buyer Responsibility: Post-Cleaning Care
Before shipping, we only shake off and air-blow the blast media from your parts. Any part that will come into contact with engine oil, hydraulic fluid, or fuel must be meticulously washed and rinsed by the buyer. Sand and abrasive media can easily get suspended in fluids and will quickly ruin bearings, seals, and other internal engine components.
