Designed as a direct-fit OE-style replacement, this modulator valve will fit directly into the factory location of your current Cougar or Mustang valve. Also known as the throttle valve, this valve controls vacuum to the transmission as you press the gas pedal, and it will apply higher control pressure for better quality shifts at higher RPMs.

This great little kit replaces stock Ford bushings that can wear out in as quick as one year. This is a very simple repair and upgrade, once you have removed the pedal support from the car. Cougar actually used a larger ribbed plate on manual transmission cars without a console but this Mustang part is an inexpensive alternative. The rubber shift boot screws to the transmission tunnel, carpet then goes over it and lastly this retainer slips over the boot and hides the cut edges of your carpet. Very hard to find 69 - 70 Shelby / 67 - 69 Cougar 4 speed shifter knob. Almost a year in development was spent to get as close as possible to original N.O.S. sample. These very rarely come up for sale used and when they do, they are expensive. Knob insert is made of metal just like original not brass. Knob also has the correct groove in middle of body like 69 version and not the earlier version which does not. Not technically correct for a 67-8 Cougar, as the 67-8 does not have the groove in...

Used faux wood grain 4 speed shift knob for 1967 and 1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7 models. This knob is so much better than the reproduction knob that we sell. This knob has a threaded metal insert that is 1/2" - 20 NF. Some aftermarket shift levers may not have this particular thread size.
