Of the three covers used on the 67-73 Cougars we find this one the most difficult to use. Will Not Work On Badly Distorted Dash Pads. The problem is not with the product but rather the design of the original dash pad. Unlike the 69-73 pads the 67-68 pads are prone to warping (sagging) badly. This used part comes carefully cut from a parts car and will include all mounting tabs. It is slightly different from the Mustang version as it has a different contour where the dash pad attaches. AC and no AC are the same, but 67 and 68 differ slightly in height of the area where the ashtray is installed.

This rectangular trim part is located on the right side of the glove box on all 1967 - 1968 Mercury Cougars without factory installed AC. This could be referred to as a passenger side AC vent block off plate. Our used pieces taken from parts cars usually need to be painted but sometimes will pass as-is for a driver quality car. Used diffuser for the shift indicator lamp. This diffuser is used on the Cougar or Mustang WITH a console and attaches to the end of the light socket on your shift indicator wire harness. Both shift indicator lamps with or without a console used the same wire harness and socket, but used different diffusers. The difference in the harness from the 67 to the 68 was different colored wires and different plugs. Replacement bulbs can be found on our site as well. ...

Used diffuser for the shift indicator lamp. This diffuser is used on the Cougar or Mustang WITHOUT a console and attaches to the end of the light socket on your shift indicator wire harness. Both shift indicator lamps with or without a console used the same wire harness and socket, but used different diffusers. The only difference in the harness from the 67 to the 68 was different colored wires.

This restored trim piece mounts to the back of the vent frame of any 1967-68 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. Driver side only, made of galvanized steel.
