This 1967-68 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang shield, was installed at the factory to protect the heater motor from being damaged when the Big Block 390-427-428's were being dropped in. As noted in the factory assembly manuals we sell, they were supposed to be removed once the motor was in place. We have found that more often than not they were left in place as it was probably too time consuming to remove them. Technically they should not be in place on a concours car but practically...
