Used bolt and washer for attaching the crankshaft balancer or damper to the crank shaft. 15/16 inch hex head with 5/8-18 threads and 1.75 inches long. Basically fits all Mercury Cougar engines except the 1971 429 Cobra Jets engines. Fits 1967-73 289, 302, Boss 302, 351W, 351C, 390, 427, and 428CJ engines.Torque specifications for this bolt are 70-90 foot pounds.*Note does not fit 429 or 460 V8 engines or any 6 cylinder engines.

Used early version of the long seat belt bolt for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. This early version has faint markings on the head of the bolt as where the later versions have more prominent markings. 13/16" hex head,  two inch bolt with a 1/2 inch shoulder. Can be either smooth headed or have an "E".

Used early version short seat belt mounting bolt to mount the front retractor to the inner rocker panel and used in conjunction with a large washer. This is an early version of the the seat belt bolt with faint or no markings on the head, the later versions are longer, and have much more prominent head markings.13/16" hex head, 1-1/8inch bolt with a 3/16 inch shoulder.

Oil pan bolt kit for all FE 390, 427, and 428 engines. Measures 3/4" tall with a captured lock washer. These were removed from 1969 and 1970 428 Cobra Jet Fans. More research is needed before we can conclusively post the interchange and application details on these bolts. Would love to hear what you have found on your original Cougars equipped with a fan clutch.
