This kit is similar to the original type mounted in every drivers side door. These OEM style Riv-Nuts will be a challenge to install unless you have the special tool. New black oval Phillips headed screws with correct sized heads for seating into the original and reproduction 1967 XR7 rocker hash marks.

This stepped window trim clip is great for times when your stainless trim just will not click into place. We have found that the reproduction cougar rear window gasket is a little taller than OEM and this adjustable clip allows you to compensate. These barrel nuts or clips are exactly like the original ones inserted into the trunk for attaching 1967-68 "Mercury" script, and 1971-72 Mercury Cougar "Mercury" Hood scripts. The manufacturer indicates that these tubular nuts fit 1/8" holes. Pin size on those emblems are 3/32". These clips are also used to attach the 1967 quarter panel emblems. This fragile little clip attaches to the bottom outer edge of the front fender extension and holds the tail of the aluminum eyebrow moulding to the extension, one per side. They almost always fail when you remove them, and to be honest, we rarely have them in stock. We do not list these hard to find parts to tease you, but rather for documentation purposes. This clip looks just like the smaller rear deck / trunk lid moulding clip but is larger (as our comparison picture shows). One clip per side is used to attach the tail end (larger end) of the moulding to the extension. Rarely will the clip you get look as good as the pictured here, usually the "finger" will be missing. New replacement J-nut or they are sometimes called U-nuts. These clip into those square holes in the fender aprons for fastening the fenders on 1967-70 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs. These clips are 5/8 inches from the hole center to folded edge. We also see the same clips with 27/32 inch spacing for fender mounting. Numerous other uses, we find this clip on the hidden headlight buckets on 1967-68 Cougar and XR7's.

Used stamped nut for attaching the tail light bezels to the tail light housings. This is a 8-32 nut, with a 11/32" hex and is intended for the 8-32 threaded studs attached to the tail light bezels on any 1967-68 Mercury Cougar. This 1/2" tall unique little screw was used on several different trim parts on the early Mercury Cougars. In 1967 - 1968 there were eight per wheel lip moulding, two per fender extension moulding, two per center grille moulding and five per hood lip moulding for a total of 50 screws. In 1969-1973 they were used on the wheel lips mouldings. The 1971 - 1973 hood lip mouldings used the same screw but it was 5/8" tall.
