Used air conditioning thermostat switch for any 1971-73 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang with integral or factory A/C. Attaches to the side of the fiberglass box under the dash, the wire probe gets inserted into the evaporator. Tested and working switch. These were originally manufactured by Cutler-Hammer for Ford. This used heater fan switch mounts to the rear of the heater control panel. It is a good working switch, wiring pigtail, and plug. Also, because it is original, it will fit right the first time. This FMX switch is correct for 1972 and 1973 but works fine on 1969, 1970 and 1971. The only difference is that the later models had one extra plug that will not be utilized when used on a 69 - 71. Hard to find New Old Recent Stock switch for the driver side power seat on the 71 - 73 Cougar or Mustang. Toggle switch looks accurate, however, you will need to reuse your original plugs. NOTE!!!! This offshore switch is assembled with plated steel rivet contacts as opposed to brass rivet contacts like original. Whereas the Torino or Mustang do fine with 2 incandescent rear bulbs the Cougars with 6 bulbs put too much load on the switch and they fail. The only way these switches will hold up in a Cougar is if you convert to LED. Our turn signal switches are made on the FoMoCo original tooling. If you have replaced your sequential unit in the trunk with one of our new solid state sequential units and are still having problems then the turn signal switch is most likely the culprit as the only other part to the system is the wiring harness itself. Often when your brake lights are not working the turn signal switch is the culprit as the brake lights feed through the turn signal switch. This switch also fits the 1970-1972...
