While at the 2018 WCCC Open House, Don Rush noticed that my Battery Hold Down Bolts were some cheap auto parts store version with wing nuts and suggested that I purchase this product. After I arrived at home, I opened this package and was very happy with what I saw and how the product feels. The bolts themselves are nice and thick, two to three times thicker than the auto parts versions I had before (those when right into the trash can). These new bolts have a nice semi-rough texture to them, making them feel aged and look aged, so they are perfect for a classic Cougar. I really enjoyed the beefy feel of these bolts. The nuts are ½" nuts that require a socket wrench, or regular wrench, to tighten, unlike the wingnuts I was using before. I actually like this better as they feel more age appropriate. During installation, the hooked ends easily grab the battery plate and I was able to get the nuts put on and synch then nice and tight (it was a little bit of struggle pulling up on the battery cross member that the bolts slide through and tightening the nuts down while pulling up on the cross member trying to keep the hooked ends in place). When the job was done, I was extremely happy with how they looked in the car. I highly recommend buying this Battery Hold Down Bolt Kit for your classic Ford or Mercury vehicle.

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...
