Larger sized retainer that screws to upper front lip near the quarter glass on all 1969-70 Mercury Cougar hardtops and 1970 Ford Mustang coupes. Ford lists this part as: Retainer - quarter trim panel rear. We see these sometimes installed in the front position at the top of the interior quarter panel next to the window glass, mostly the front position is empty or the factory installed two of the smaller retainers. This retainer helps the top section of the soft trim panels from rattling. The retaining screw inside the window lip eliminates the need for this clip.
