    Description

NOTE: Some customers have mentioned this hose does not fit well, others have said it fits with no issues. It is not the same as OEM and fitment seems to depend on the vehicle and modifications that have been previously done. We recommend going with our premium version.

Lower pressure hose for any 1967-70 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang, but with a V-8. The factory power steering pressure hose originally was a two piece hose. Valve end has the 5/16" flared male fitting, and a 3/8" female fitting at the connector. Hose is about 20 inches long overall. Fits 289, 302, 351, 390, and 428CJ.

This hose is the control valve end pressure hose.

This hose is nothing like the OE hose - it is 3" shorter, has the incorrect bends, and a plastic sleeve that serves no purpose. Do not buy this hose.

I agree with previous review by "Joey". The description for the hose says the female is 3/8...it is not, the steel line is 5/16" and so is the female nut. This will not connect directly to the upper hose which does have a 3/8" male fitting. My solution was to purchase a #2406-06-05 hydraulic connector fitting to connect the 2 hoses. I am not sure if this is a problem on the "concours" hoses as the female is a direct hose end, not a steel tube and nut.

    Pros:
    • Good quality hose. Correct lower fitting
    Cons:
    • Incorrect upper fitting and flare
This lower pressure hose will not fit the OE upper hose fitting. This part is said to replace the lower power steering pressure line (valve end) on a two-piece factory application. The upper fitting on this hose WILL NOT work with the lower fitting on the upper OE hose from the power steering pump. Incorrect flare and incorrect fitting size/threads.

A solution: Use your old hose upper fitting and this replacement hose and source a local hydraulic hose company to replace the OE upper fitting onto this replacement part.
