Used random brand 4001 high beam headlight for the Mercury Cougar. High beam headlights are distinguished by the number 1 at 12 o'clock position and the 2 prong connection on the back. We guarantee these units to work. Basic Ford part # 13007-B.

D0OB-13A167- A  - NOT FOR COUGAR / GALAXIE. This actuator was removed from a Southern California car years ago and was immaculate inside and had no pitting on the shaft. Starting with a clean core is paramount, if it sounds like a tambourine when you start the process your results will not be very good. Correct size and style white square plastic insert that clips onto front or rear license plate bracket on any 1967-73 Mercury Cougar. Each kit allows one license plate to be mounted. The actual screw has a large head which is made for license plates, but is not the factory Ford style of fastener for Concours judged cars. We also sell an accepted original style of screw, see item 8286.

Repro bushings (pair) that mount to the grille for the headlamp operating shafts. These hardly ever survive after 40 years. Technically not needed, and most never knew they existed. Sold as a pair, one for each side. When mounted these are tight, it was no wonder they are seldom seen on cars. Even the NOS bushings are tight. We recommend polishing the headlight shaft with emery or sand paper, to make both sides smooth. Definitely add a little bit of lubricant too. Replaces Ford part number...

This kit will recondition most FoMoCo headlamp actuators built from 1967 into the 70's on most any Thunderbird, Torino, Lincoln, Cyclone or Marquis. You will need to "break off" your unique extension and attach it to this unit. Correctly restored with bright dip anodized clear coat. Requires you to send your core in advance. Once we get your core in hand we do what is called "Core Matching". If you send in a core with only superficial dings, scratches and dullness you will get back a core that had only minor damage.
